All of our Urban Goat pochades are built with a smooth finished wooden palette that is a breeze to mix your oil paints on, and cleans up with OMS or oil. You do not need a separate acrylic palette insert if you are using oil paints, However, we do offer this option if you prefer mixing on acrylic instead of wood, or if you are concerned that oil paint may dry on the palette before you have a chance to clean it.
The thin (1mm) clear acrylic insert option includes 3 palettes, and is good for a dozen or more paint sessions per palette, depending on how well you clean up after each outing.
We also offer a 3mm opaque neutral gray acrylic insert. It is a bit more robust and should last longer, but also weighs 8 oz for the Alpine 9.5 × 13 inch size.
